The Basics

Anyone can benefit from using a laundry service. Some clients send their laundry weekly while others need help once in a while. I offer scheduling options for both.

The working parent who gets home after a full day, takes the kids to practice, makes dinner, helps with homework, and collapses into bed only to remember the laundry has been sitting in the dryer since Tuesday. You are not failing. You are just doing too much. Let me take one thing off your list.

It’s simple. You schedule a pickup through our online Scheduling page, bag up your laundry, and leave it at your door during our 9-11am pickup window on your pickup day. We take it from there: washing, drying, and folding. We deliver it back to your door clean, neatly folded, and ready to put away within 24-48 hours. You never have to leave your house or interact with anyone if you prefer. Just bag it, leave it, and find it fresh at your door.

River Valley Laundry Co. serves Hudson and River Falls, Wisconsin. If you are just outside these areas reach out and I will let you know if I can accommodate you.

Recurring weekly pickups are available Monday through Thursday for clients who sign up for recurring service to guarantee their spot on the schedule. Weekend pickups are available for clients who use our one-time service. Check the Scheduling page for current availability. Deliveries follow within 24-48 hours of pickup.

Visit our Scheduling page and book directly through our online booking system. You will be asked to complete a short preference form on your first booking so I know exactly how to care for your laundry. The whole process takes about three minutes.

Your Laundry

Simply bag it up in whatever you have available, such as a laundry bag or garbage bag. Leave your bags at your designated pickup spot — front door, porch, or wherever you prefer — by 9am on your pickup day.

No, sorting is not necessary and is part of the service. Your laundry will be folded and stacked by clothing type and packaged by family member.

You choose. When you book for the first time you will select your detergent preference — Tide scented, All Free and Clear unscented hypoallergenic, or your own detergent which you can send along with your laundry and I will return it with your order. You can also choose add-ons at no extra cost, such as scented dryer sheets, unscented hypoallergenic dryer sheets, white vinegar as a natural softener, scent beads, or none at all. I do not use bleach or liquid fabric softener.

Absolutely! All Free and Clear is a fragrance-free, dye-free hypoallergenic detergent that is gentle on sensitive skin. Simply select it as your preference when you book. If you have specific allergies or sensitivities, please note them in your preference form and I will take extra care with your order.

River Valley Laundry Co. does not accept items labeled dry clean only, items with mold or mildew, items with bedbugs or other pests, clothing heavily saturated with smoke, or items soiled with bodily fluids beyond normal household laundry. These items will be returned to you unprocessed at no charge. If you are unsure about an item, feel free to ask before your pickup.

Yes, comforters, duvets, sleeping bags, and large blankets are welcome. Oversized items that require their own dedicated wash cycle are priced separately at $20 per item and are not weighed.

I check all pockets during sorting. Small items of little value, like receipts and coins, are bagged and returned with your order. If I find something of value such as cash, a credit card, or jewelry I will contact you immediately to arrange return. Please try to empty pockets before sending your laundry. I cannot be responsible for items that go through the wash undiscovered.

Yes! You would not be the first person to wonder. I wash everything: underwear, socks, workout clothes, kids’ clothing, towels, bed linens, and everything in between. Your laundry is handled with the same care and discretion I give my own family’s clothing. No judgment, ever. If it goes in a washing machine, send it.

Pricing and Payment

We offer a simple per pound rate of $1.75/lb with a $35 minimum order. Your laundry is weighed after it has been washed and dried. All laundry products are included. There are no platform fees, no delivery fees, no trust and safety fees, and no operational fees. Just a straightforward per-pound rate plus Wisconsin sales tax of 5.5%. Oversized items such as comforters are priced separately at $20 per item.

After your laundry is completed, weighed and delivered, I will send you a payment link by text. You pay securely online using any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Payment is due within 24 hours of receipt. If you forget to pay (it happens!), we will send you a reminder. Failure to pay will result in cancellation of service.

You are never charged at booking. I weigh your completed order after washing and folding and send you an invoice based on the actual dry weight. What you see on the invoice is exactly what you pay.

This is a very common question for first-time clients. Since I charge by the pound based on the actual dry weight of your completed laundry, the exact total depends on what you send. But here is a helpful guideline: the typical volume of laundry for a family of four runs between 40-60 pounds per week.

To give you a rough estimate before your first pickup, think about how many loads you normally do in a week. One full residential washer load typically weighs 8-12 pounds. Four to six loads are very common for a busy family household. Also consider the type of clothing you wear. Denim jeans and sweatshirts weigh more than athletic shorts and t-shirts.

You will never be charged at booking. I weigh your completed laundry after washing and folding and send you a text with your invoice after delivery. You see the exact amount before you pay, every single time. No surprises, ever.

Logistics and Policies

All orders are returned within 24-48 hours of pickup. I will confirm your delivery day and time by text so you always know exactly when to expect it.

No. Pickup and delivery are completely contactless. I collect your bag from your designated spot and return it to the same location. You never need to be home or answer the door. If you would like a greeting that is always welcome, just let me know in your preferences.

No problem at all. Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a $10 fee.

Weekly recurring clients: You can skip any week and your standing slot is held automatically. Call or text us at 715-513-9494 if you need to skip a week. If you want to reschedule for a different day, call or text and we will let you know if we can accommodate.

One-time service clients: You can cancel or reschedule through the online booking system, or by phone/text at 715-513-9494.

I take exceptional care with every order. In the rare event of a concern please contact me within 24 hours of delivery with photos and I will make it right. River Valley Laundry Co. is insured. I am not responsible for pre-existing damage, items left in pockets, or items requiring special care that were not disclosed at booking.

Always. Your personal information and laundry preferences are used solely to provide your service and are never shared with third parties.

I give every recurring weekly client at least two weeks advance notice before any planned vacation or closure. You will receive a message from me letting you know the dates I will be unavailable and when your next scheduled pickup will be. Recurring clients keep their standing pickup slot automatically and service resumes the moment I am back. You never lose your spot or need to rebook.
